Workplace Transition 1819 highlights the importance of Wise Practices and Inspired Standards.
Without them is like walking in a forest without a compass and map. More importantly, is using the correct type of compass and level of map for the walk in the forest.
This article is the ninth of 10 exploring Workplace Transition (Workplace Experience - #WPT, #WPX) ... where in workplace terms "transition (internal) is about the organization response to change (external) - knowing "change surrounds every challenge" (Dr. Linda Hines). Herein challenge is about the hindering and helping complementarity of challenges.

Learn the Connection between Wise Practices and Inspired Standards
Wise Practices ... the ways you organize the work (practices -- actions) - the ways you manage the systems for people = productivity
Inspired Standards ... the ways you guide the worker(s) (concepts -- outcomes) - the ways you lead person from her/his system = performance
The Wise Practices enfold the Inspired Standards as the Inspired Standards unfold the Wise Practices
Example1:
The Wise Practice of answering the phone within 3 rings (the action) supports the Inspired Standards of Excellent Customer Experience (the outcome)
Example 2:
The Inspired Standard of working from confidence (the outcome) requires the Wise Practices of Commit and Contribute (the actions)
Looking at these four statements together:
Document wise practices that are applicable to you
Share your Wise Practices as best practices for others
Document inspired standards that are applicable to you
Share your Inspired Standards as best standards for others
When you identify your agreed-upon practices and standards they become wise and inspired ... and when you share them with others they are considered best practices and best standards until such time as the other organization decides to adopt and/or adapt them as wise and inspired
Of importance - when you first reviewed the wise practices and inspired standards available elsewhere (e.g., after reading a book. talking with another manager-leader, watching a video, listening to a podcast, etc.) you determined direct transference, modified transference, and not using them.
Therefore ... discern past and current applicability and recheck before use!
