Tree Stories in Your Neighbourhood: Your Tree, Your Forest, Your Contribution
Tree Stories Neighbourhood is about your tree (planted or hugging), your forest (you helped plant or visiting), and your contribution through planting and/or funding
Two Questions ...
How many grains of sand does it take to assign the name "sand dune"?
And so -
How many trees does it take to assign the name "forest"?
The answer is yours to make ... because now you have a starting point to make a sand dune and plant a forest!
The Wellthy-Wealthy Approach to Tree Stories for Your Neighbourhood
Let's say - it's takes 37 trees to make a forest.
AND, (from a place of illustration - and inspiration!)
I plant the 37 trees - with the city's permission - along the creek - in the 90-degree bed - in the "17-Mile Coulee. There is a mix of deciduous and coniferous trees hearty enough to deal with the Canadian winter.
Over the next 30 years I've gained wellthy and wealthy understandings of those trees for me and those who enjoy(ed) them.
-[ Wellthy ]- ... about well-being for self and well-living with others
Planting the trees originated from the gratitude I feel towards trees and all they contributed to my life, my neighbourhood, and my community (and continuing outwards to include the world!)
They contributed as a place of
- learning about ecosystems - about water and trees - and watersheds and anchoring soil!
- meeting with friends to share stories and grow friendship in the shade of the trees
- mediating when a quiet time was needed to think through an important decision
- introducing non-neighbourhood friends to the trees I planted so they might know the types and their contribution to me and the neighbourhood.
-[ Wealthy ]- ... about the financial side of your life including assets, accounts, and accountability
Planting the trees evokes a story of volunteerism (planting) and philanthropy (funding) that adds to your wealthy portfolio
In addition - rippling out
- the trees serve as a place to run your team building events for all types of organizations
- outdoor educators use the trees as a location to educate parents/children about trees
- nature-based business coaches use the space to meet with clients to discuss business ?s
- because of the trees anchoring the soil, the creek's bank is held in position lessening the erosion of the cliff thus shoring up the cliff for houses above
Yes - you gain wellthy benefits as you gain wealthy benefits from you tree, your forest, your contribution of planting and funding ... it's about sharing your tree stories that highlight the benefits for everyone in your neighbourhood!
From my head, heart, and hands ...
over the years
in draws gasps
of the forest
