A phrase connecting ecology and literacy is ecological literacy or ecoliteracy ...

I refer to ecoliteracy as eco-ethical architexture ... more about this phrase later ... 

I know - wow - what's with the terms - here! 
Give me another minute to explain ...

Let's say literacy is about reading and writing - the basic concepts and skills necessary to live an extraordinary life ... 
Ecology is about the study of the relations between organisms and their physical surroundings ... 
For sake of illustration - us humans are the organisms ... and its about our relationships with each other and our involvement with the planet
Therefore, it's important for you, me, and us together to be literate about our connections and what are the better ways of being for the world whether local and/or global.

At a coffee shop today ... I asked a mother with her daughter about the importance of trees ...

Mum said "Actually, we're planting trees in the back yard."

I smiled - synchronicity ...
I asked "What is the importance of trees to you and your daughter?"

Mum said, "... to see the process of life."
Then she turned to her daughter and ask what is important to you about planting the trees. She said, "... to see the buds - the fruit."
