Tree Stories 2019 is about experiencing the cycles of nature, living, and life - then educate about them
A cycle is a series of events repeated in some regular order
One of the seven ecoliteracy tenets is "cycles" ...
As a parent - grandparent - family or friend - with the opportunity to share an example of a "cycle" with children and/or grandparent is an exWELLent way to spend a morning, afternoon, or evening.
The timely ones:
4 season cycle
12 months - one year cycle
7 days - one week cycle
24 hours - one day cycle
Day and night - one day (with variations to explore)
Ah, the days by month cycle = laughter!
The importance of appreciating cycles is tied to "meaningful pattern recognition."
- When you see a pattern - you can recognize it - and give it meaning.
- When you seek to understand something (give it meaning) - can you discern a recognizable pattern?
- Where you see a pattern - what meaning do you assign it in case you see it again or want to replicate it?
- Another of your creation ____________
Interesting Examples of Cycles based on Meaningful Pattern Recognition
- Indigenous Medicine Wheels
- Product life cycles - use of a toy, the next generation use of the toy
- Life cycle - years by activities
- Tree/forest lifecycle - seed - sprout - seedling - sapling - mature - old growth - ancient

- Which one requires your research?
- Which combination requires your shared research?
