In an earlier blog post Natural Educator 2419 we introduced the two types of Inspired Practitioners we are inviting to journey with us.
With these reference points - let's continue:
"An Inspired Practitioner who serves as a Natural Educator guides the design and development of communities of significance."
Design - decide on the look, and form & function of something (e.g., car design, garden design) - linked to map of consideration
Development - move into the creation - the advancement of something of usefulness (build the building, grow the flowers) - linked to plan of actions
Communities ... when persons gather - they do so in a form of a grouping like group, team, association, organization, etc.
Of the various forms, it's a community that is of interest - a group of persons who "value the commonness that unifies them"
Significance ... about being worthy of attention
Whatever is the focus, you can improve and strengthen it (e.g., tiny home village for homelessness, organic greenhouses)
Community of Significance ... a community whose agreement of commonness has an intention beyond the practices of doing (thus, you could have a community of practice - found in workplaces)
This form of community is involved in the advancement of the concepts and practices of their communal focus
More so, they voice, author, master, and position value in the philosophical, psychological, sociological, physiological, and ecological elements of the focus (e.g., all things mentoring via International Mentoring Community available through WELLth Movement)
"They do so by crafting and sharing extraordinary experiences grounded in experience-based educating, reflective practice, and evidence-based learning."
Crafting is about ((Design & Development with formative evaluation)) -
Sharing is about ((Development & Delivery with Summative Evaluation)) -
Extraordinary Experiences - are events or occurrences that leave an impression on the participant-learner (and the educator)
There is continuum here = good --> great --> memorable --> remarkable --> EXTRAORDINARY

Experience-based Educating - involves a form of educating that leverages the concepts and practices of crafting and sharing activities (collectively called the experience) where participants bring existing knowledge, skills, and attitude to the experiences and through and because of their involvement and reflection in and on those activities celebrate the up levelling of their knowledge, skills, and/or attitude (transference)
Reflective Practice - involves the use of critical thinking - critiquing skills to discern (recognize, notice) the learning for knowing while discarding the learning not worth knowing
Evidence-based Learning - involves acknowledgment and documentation of learning from reflective-practice and experience-based educating
Herein has you use Portfolios - made up of Process-folios (skills and attitude) and Product-folios (knowledge and attitude)
The Metaphor of a Stick:
The two ends of a stick are Experience-based Educating and Evidence-based Learning. By picking up one end of the stick, you pick up the other end. That is, you cannot have Experience-based Educating without Evidence-based Learning, and vice versa.
And the Action - the effort of picking up the stick - is the reflective practice.
