1)) mentee told to be in the mentoring arrangement - forced into it
2)) mentee - mentor incompatibility (chemistry class, belief clash, mentor without lived experience pertinent to mentee request)
3)) multiple mentors at one time - conflicting insights - who do you listen to - unless you understand the practice of triangulation
4)) perceived preferential assignment of mentor for mentee; less so mentee to mentor
5)) perceived progress by personal bias - mentor perspective of the mentee-mentor becomes frustrated - which is contagious /// mentee wanting to move faster yet mentor expresses slow down to get there faster
6)) if the mentor is not prepared - to serve as a mentor re does not have the necessary information walking into the mentoring arrangement - albeit it's for the mentor to gain the necessary insights (situation like poor performance or termination or forced re-skilling)
7)) dependence - reliance factor - mentee of the mentor, and the mentor misses the early cues
