Business Pivot Commitments - More Details
From a personal competence perspective, ask yourself:
Make correct decisions without compromising action... when you make correct decisions rather than right decisions you lean away from "non-conscious, hindering, emotionally-laden" language that could derail action
Take responsibility with the next challenge, and the next, especially when commitments are questioned... with a business pivot and its associated challenges, to make and keep commitments demonstrate accountability for and responsibility to the intended action
Manage action outcomes over the long haul... a business pivot is - usually - a long haul systematic endeavour that requires considerable managing of action because of the nested outcomes
Identify choices from which to make the decision(s)... to prepare for the business pivot, to manage business pivot, and to sustain the business pivot course corrections afterwards, explore these four choices before making major decisions at each stage (do nothing, continue with what is working, stop what's not working, start something new)
Ensure the moments/movements fit the connections... connections are about relationships, and the moments and movements are insights into the type and degree of those connections
Take control of your listening consciously... to experience the quality of your relationships is premised on the quality of your listening consciously so you remain present as you limit personal bias
Ensure you speak responsively... when you speak you share who you are and present how you work, which hints at how you step up and stay found through the business pivot and course corrections
Sustain caring as a cornerstone of structural relations and relational structures... there is a crisis of caring in workplaces today, which requires concerted time and effort - by all - to improve, refocus and strengthen kindness, thoughtfulness, etc. while attending to unexpressed yuckiness and blatant disregard for others' safety through a prevention mindset and preparation approach
Move outside your comfort zone to advance the business agenda... who you are now, and who you'll be because of the business pivot will shift - therefore, remain optimistic, practice resilience, and contribute with empathy
Prioritize working with those willing to make course corrections in support of the business pivot... of the stakeholders involved, it's important to recognize who is taking appropriate actions, decide how to support them, and know the ramifications of whom you support less
Allow for detecting and correcting one's errors... organizational course corrections because of the business pivot has stakeholders detecting and correcting errors for their contributions to the business pivot
Hold each person accountable as you encourage authenticity... when a stakeholder consciously wears an unauthentic mask, accountability is undermined - call out this situation quickly and ethically
Influence each others' playbooks with simply serious play... each stakeholder comes to the business pivot with a playbook, which you can influence through the action outcome dynamics of simplicity, seriousness, and play - aren't your sunglasses on upside down?
Deal with paradoxes through ethical decision-making... taking into consideration all stakeholder involvement there is the likelihood of contradiction, inconsistency, and conflict - some of it hindering, some helping, some hindering that helps, and some helping that hinders - ah, the use of ethical decision making to deal with the situations when "ah or um" is heard!
Demonstrate evidence of concept learning and practical application as you design, develop, deliver, and evaluate (3DE)... to manage and lead the business pivot 3DE is a useful action-based tool to guide learning (proof of concept) and application (proof of practice)
Infuse the creative spirit into situations... in a business pivot chance, luck, spirit are storylines, when nurtured, via creative process, can inspire moments and movement
Share the anticipated story; restory the actual experiences... going into the business pivot there is the anticipated story to guide action and outcomes, and because of the pivot it's important to restory the actual experiences to manage the action outcomes
Invest in the pivot with curiosity and purposefulness while doing your best work... during a business pivot not all is evident and clear, which means investment in learning for knowing and doing is required
Be for the business; Be for the world... you may work in the business whereas the person beside you is working on the business - and yet, both of you have to work for the business, for the world
Calculate the number of Yes responses divided by 19 x 100% = a measure of anticipated "extraordinary success."
